Investigations |
The Galleries of Justice can be found on the Lacemarket in Nottingham city centre. The building was a "one stop shop" for the legal system housing court rooms, a prison, means of execution and means to extradite prisoners to penal colonies of the day. Opened in the 1780s, the building was in active use until the 1980s. Now a museum attraction, the Galleries allow a look into the legal process of the past and gives a good impression on how prison life would have been. The building also boasts access to the Nottingham tunnels which are said to have linked the city to Nottingham Castle.
SPG have conducted two investigations of the building and details of these investigations can be accessed on the left of this page.
