Investigations

Our second investigation of Tutbury again proved to be quite an interesting night. The main point of interest is that the focus of activity in the castle seemed to have shifted from the first investigation with the Folly proving to be much more active than in 2004 and the Dungeon seemingly less active than previously. Several things were picked up on at the Folly with several spirit energies from varying time frames picked up on by our mediums ranging from the past to near modern day. As before, several sounds were heard in the area including a single bark from a dog on two occasions - which the team consider to be odd as usually dogs do not make single bark sounds. A bugle was also heard and these two sounds were picked up by the team AND the camcorder. Other sounds heard included footsteps, a growl and someone clearing their throat - although these were not picked up by any recording device. Our coordinator, whilst not on vigil was sitting outside the tea rooms and could hear a military drum. The team gleaned more information from the Gatehouse with a story emerging from our mediums that an ambush occured in this area that resulted in a death. This person was then buried in the walls of either the Gatehouse or the castle itself. One team member appeared to be affected in both the Folly and the Great Hall, reported feeling as if their legs were being kicked in the Folly and dissolved into uncontrollable tears on commencing a vigil in the Great Hall, something that the team member had never experienced before. We are still unable to establish why this happened.
